The Sunday Sun is reporting this morning that contract talks with Andy Carroll have broken down.

卡路爾與紐卡素懷疑不和 Andy-carroll-3
Andy Carroll - contract talks with 20 year old broke down last week

Andy, who was born in Gateshead and has come through the Newcastle Academy ranks, is said to be prepared to move on at the end of the season.
His current contract still has over two years to run, and apparently Newcastle have already put a £2M price tag on the lad - and for a young player of his abilities that’s far too low.
But we have a hard time believing too much of this Sunday Sun story, to be honest.
However, Newcastle should give the lad an improved contract right now, since he’s shown he can be a first teamer, and a regular as early as next season potentially.
They report that Andy was left bitterly disappointed by the terms of the deal offered to him by the Newcastle hierarchy.
There’s no doubt that Andy’s recent form, when he has been in the side because of injuries to Owen, Martins and Viduka, was very promising, and he’s looked the part in the Newcastle side, even though he’s just 20 years old.
He’s already scored two very important goals for the side.
But it could well be that other clubs have already talked him up, and he may already know what he could get at other clubs, and it’s probably a lot more than Newcastle are offering.
The Sunday Sun is saying that Carroll’s proposed wages would have risen to barely £10K a week, from a starting point well below that level, by the time he entered the 5th year of the proposed deal.
That is only a small fraction of the money already earned by fellow striker Xisco, and Carroll is preferred to the Spaniard, but it’s hard to believe the wages offered to Andrew are that low.
We think that far too much is being made of this, and it’s a good test for the Newcastle club, because bringing youngsters through the club is the way they have to go, and especially local lads.
So they had better pay them what they’re worth, and certainly it would be stupid not to keep Andy happy at the Newcastle club.
