MIXED FORTUNES FOR REDS DUO

There was major disappointment for Emiliano Insua after defendingchampions Argentina failed to qualify for the U20 championship finalsbut joy for Ronald Huth as Paraguay have made it to Egypt.

Argentina were eliminated from the South American qualifyingcompetition after a 1-0 defeat to Colombia in their final group game.

This means that for the first time in 16 years they will not take part in the FIFA U20 World Cup.

The Reds number 22 will now return to England andcould be in contention for a place in Rafael Benitez's squad for theAnfield meeting with Manchester City on February 22.

Brazil won the South America U20 Championships and Paraguay join them in qualifying for the finals in second place.

Huth played the full 90 minutes as Paraguay beat Brazil 1-0 in their final game last night.

The famous victory means Paraguay are one of four South Americannations to qualify for the FIFA U20 World Cup that will be staged inEgypt in September.
